Dr. Michelle Frank is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she received her Bachelor of Science degree. She earned her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Dr. Frank completed her General Psychiatry residency at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital and her Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at the University of Illiniois at Chicago Institute for Juvenile Research.
Dr. Frank believes in comprehensive psychiatric care and works collaboratively with patients to develop a holistic treatment plan. In addition to psychopharmacologic managament of psychiatric illnesses, Dr. Frank regularly provides individual and family therapies. She incorporates techniques from a wide variety of psychological styles, with an emphasis on cognitive and behavioral strategies.
Dr. Frank is trained in the management of emotional and behavioral problems across the developmental continuum. Particular areas of interest include attention-deficit and anxiety disorders, women’s issues and the treatment of amateur and elite athletes. She is a consultant to the DePaul University Athletic Department and works with high school athletic programs to increase awareness of the unique emotional issues facing young athletes.
Dr. Frank is an active member of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and the International Society of Sport Psychiatrists.
